A group of Master of Social Work (MSW) students completed a one-day agency placement program at the Shaskiya Baal Grih (Balak) in Mana Camp, Raipur, run by the Department of Women and Child Development ,Chhattisgarh.

The placement provided students with direct exposure to state-run institutional childcare and protection frameworks. During the visit, the students received a comprehensive briefing from the facility administration regarding operational protocols, rehabilitation strategies, and the legal guidelines governing child admissions and care. The students toured the facility to evaluate the living conditions, hygiene standards, and educational resources provided to the residents.

To understand the social and emotional dynamics of the children, the MSW students organized interactive group activities. These interactions allowed the students to observe the children's peer relationships and psycho-social environments. The program concluded with the students analyzing the institution's strengths and identifying gaps, ultimately recommending enhanced mental health counseling and structured digital literacy programs to support the children's long-term development.
