MSW students organized an awareness program on hygiene and cleanliness at the primary school of Funda Village under the guidance of faculty members and social work department coordinators. The main objective of the program was to create awareness among school children regarding personal hygiene, hand washing practices and disease prevention.

During the program, MSW students explained the importance of cleanliness in daily life and educated children about maintaining good hygiene habits to prevent infections and communicable diseases. The students actively demonstrated the proper 7 steps of hand washing, which included:

  1. Wet hands with clean water and apply soap.
  2. Rub palms together properly.
  3. Rub the back side of both hands.
  4. Clean between the fingers carefully.
  5. Rub thumbs and fingertips properly.
  6. Clean nails and wrists thoroughly.
  7. Rinse hands with clean water and dry them with a clean cloth or tissue.

The children enthusiastically participated in the demonstration and practiced the hand washing steps along with the MSW students. The awareness session also highlighted the importance of using clean drinking water, keeping nails trimmed, wearing clean clothes and maintaining a healthy environment at home and school.

The program proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the school children. It helped in developing awareness about hygiene, healthy habits and disease prevention among rural children. The school staff appreciated the efforts of the MSW students for conducting an interactive and educational awareness program in the village school.
